The Preston Digital Micro Force zoom control is available in two versions; the V+F3 control for analog motors and the Digital Micro Force2 for digital motors. Both models provide the smooth flawless zooms that have made them the favorite of camera assistants worldwide. Either control can provide the zoom command signal for the FI+Z system as well as drive the internal motors of most Video lenses. A bright digital display shows the speed setting and the maximum speed is set with a new rugged encoder.
Zoom speed is controlled by applying thumb pressure to the joystick. The rugged Micro Force sensors give the operator precise tactile feedback for fine control.
The Digital Micro Force2 drives the DM-1X andDM-2 digital motors. It automatically calibrates the motors to the mechanical span of the lens, preventing accidental damage to either the lens or motor. A bright LED bargraph displays the zoom position. Electronic limit stops can be set with the touch of a button.
The soft stop feature allows the user to automatically slow the zoom a programmed distance from its end of travel. This is especially useful when doing a fast “snap” zoom, or when the user must both operate the camera and control the zoom at the same time.
The V+F3 control can drive a wide variety of analog zoom motors including the Heden M26T motors as well as the integral Panavision zoom motors.
The Articulating Pan Arm Adapter attaches the Micro Force zoom control to either an 18mm or 3/4″ pan arm.
A wide variety of accessories are available for interfacing the Micro Force to either film or video cameras and lenses.
